Needing a little getaway, we chose Eastbank COE Campground in Chatahoochee, FL, as our camping location on March 26. We spent a few nights here several years ago and had forgotten what a nice campground it is. Although we did not get a spot on the water this time, there are many lovely sites in this park.
Our main activity for the three days we were there was walking. The campground has several loops and one gigantic hill and it is possible to get quite the workout. When we were in Yellowstone last summer, we did fine walking until there was a hill involved. We decided that going up this hill at Eastbank would be good practice for the future. It was really hard and we only made it all the way up one time. (My knee is still hurting from that venture.)
Other than the walking, we relaxed and read. One day we went into Bainbridge which is about 30 miles away and ate lunch and shopped a little.
We stayed three nights. We've already made plans to return and have got a piece of prime real estate reserved on the water for that trip.
