Work Camp III

Once things settled down after our Christmas with family, we contacted Joe and Judy to see if we could assist them some more with their kitchen remodeling.  Currently they have cabinets in place and are waiting on a replacement for one that was too small for their new double oven.  The huge pantry is mostly finished but there was a cabinet that needed to be assembled.  Judy is without a sink, a stove or a dishwasher.  The cabinets that are in place are waiting for granite that has not been selected yet.  They welcomed us back and had site #1 ready for us when we arrived.

We had a good visit.  We ate sandwiches and ate out a lot which was enjoyable. Judy and I went to Crestview Sunday afternoon to see about swapping out some of her appliances and I introduced her to my favorite Starbucks drink and now she is a fan.  We went to Dothan one day shopping with Theresa (our new Opp friend) and without the menfolks and we introduced Theresa to our favorite Starbucks drink and she, too, is now a fan.

The cabinet was assembled and we helped Judy clean out her upright freezer and get it moved into the new pantry.  Other than that, I suspect we were more of a hindrance than a help.  We picked up some  pecans, got them cracked and headed for home on Wednesday.  The goal for finishing the kitchen remodeling is set for March 17.  I can't wait to see the completed project.  It is going to  be out of this world!

Meanwhile the rest of my family (Amy, Darryl and Amelia) headed for New York City where they enjoyed two musicals, ice skated in Central  Park, and saw the Statue of Liberty!
